MASTER'S PUBLIC PREPARATORY COURSE FOR THE ENM ENTRANCE EXAMINATION - BREST, NANTES AND RENNES
The fruit of a partnership between the National School for the Judiciary (ENM), the Court of Appeal of Rennes, the law faculties and the Judicial Studies Institutes (IEJs) of Brest, Nantes and Rennes, a second-year master's course dedicated to preparing the ENM entrance examination was created in 2017. Every year, the three faculties take 40 selected students.
EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES PREPARATORY CLASSES - AIX-EN-PROVENCE IEP
An equal opportunities programme to prepare the 1st ENM entrance examination has existed since December 2018 in the jurisdiction of the Court of Appeal of Aix-en-Provence. The fruit of an agreement signed by the ENM, the Institute of Political Studies (IEP) of Aix-en-Provence and the Court of Appeal, it takes the form of a programme of personalised support for means-tested bursary students enrolled on the ENM entrance exam preparatory course at the IEP ("Prep’ENM"). They also benefit from extra sessions on the methodology of the different tests.
3 PLACES RESERVED FOR STUDENTS FROM NEW CALEDONIA IN THE ENM PREPARATORY CLASSES
The ENM, the 'Formation Cadres Avenir" public interest grouping (GIP) of the High Commission of the Republic in New Caledonia, the Court of Appeal of Nouméa and the University of New Caledonia have signed an agreement on the training and integration of students from New Caledonia in the School's "equal opportunities" preparatory classes.
Although since 2014 the ENM has reserved three places for students from New Caledonia on this scheme, the preparation of the 1st entrance examination is now seen as training that should start immediately after completing a bachelor's degree (as the master's courses at the University of Nouméa are not designed to prepare for it).
Since 2018, the University of New Caledonia has been offering specific modules on legal issues and also internships in partnership with the Court of Appeal of Nouméa. The different signatories are also working together to support the students picked out by the GIP and determine the most appropriate route for them to take in view of their career plans.
The ENM will then be able to take in its preparatory classes those who have done the first year of a master's at the Sorbonne (partner university of Nouméa University) and who wish to join the judiciary.
